Pennine Heritage

About

Pennine Heritage is a charity based at the Birchcliffe Centre, a Grade II listed former Baptist chapel. After saving the chapel from demolition in the late 1970s, Pennine Heritage was formed to help preserve and celebrate the history and heritage of the Upper Calder Valley. We are home to South Pennine Archives and produce a range of publications and exhibitions related to the history of the local area. We’re also home to a number of small businesses and we hire our spaces for a variety of events and occasions.

Our publications can be found in the products section below.
